Shining Eddie's Bright Light
The Eddie Mayerik Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that honors the life of Eddie Mayerik (forever 8), who bravely battled a congenital heart defect (CHD) and chronic lung disease. He was a superhero with a heart of gold, always ready to flash his two thumbs up to you with a huge smile.
The Foundation works to ensure Eddie’s light shines bright by advancing CHD awareness and research, supporting the needs of heart families, and promoting Eddie’s passions. Through this work, we keep his memory alive and continue to spread his kindness in this world.
About CHDs
Congenital heart defects (CHDs) are the most common birth defect in the United States.
About 25% of babies born with a CHD have a critical heart defect like Eddie.
